Three fingers slide
A lot of MIUI fans don’t know about this particular feature. It was introduced in 2016 and has been functional since then. Even your latest Xiaomi phone has this function. Here’s how to find out, head over to settings > additional settings >> button shortcuts >> take a screenshot.
How it works, slide three fingers downwards on the screen, probably from the top to take a screenshot. There’ll be an animation flash and sound to indicate the process was successful, while the screenshot hangs around the top corner for a few seconds. You can click on it for quick edits.
Note: this method works on a full-screen display. However, other functions work with the buttons, which include long-pressing the home button and long-pressing the back button.
Pull down the notification shade
The most convenient way to take a screenshot on Xiaomi Android phones. From the top of the screen, swipe down to reveal the notification bar. The ‘screenshot’ icon sits below the mobile data icon, and you only need to tap on it. The screenshot animation flashes, as well as a sound, while the screenshot stays for a few seconds on the top right corner.
