If you’ve ever had your iPhone restart on its own, you know how frustrating it can be. Not only does it interrupt what you’re doing, but it can also be a sign that something is wrong with your phone. Luckily, there are some simple fixes you can try if your iPhone keeps restarting.

iPhone keeps restarting

In this blog post, we’ll go over a few of the most common causes of this issue and how to fix them. So if your iPhone has been acting up lately, read on for some helpful tips!

4 Potential Fixes to iPhone keeps restarting

Before getting started, the first thing you should do is back up your data. This way, if the worst happens and your iPhone needs to be reset, you won’t lose important files. Having that in mind, let’s proceed with the fixes below;

1. Force-restart your iPhone

If your phone is caught in a loop of endless restarts, a hard reset may be able to help out. The specific procedures to force your iPhone to restart can vary depending on the model, but it usually requires holding down the Power and one of the Volume keys at the same time. Switch off the phone for approximately a minute, then turn it back on to see if that solves the problem.

2. Make sure the latest iOS update is installed

When diagnosing a significant problem with your iPhone, you should always check for iOS updates. It’s conceivable that your iPhone is rebooting due to a serious bug or another problem in your current version of iOS. Start the Settings app and then select General. Select Software Update. If an update is available, you will be able to install it from this page.

3. Update all your apps

Even if you have no leads on a problematic app, you should nonetheless ensure that all of them are up to date. Start the App Store app and tap the account icon in the upper right corner. If any applications require an update, a section named Upcoming Automatic Updates should appear. Respond by tapping Update All.

4. Reset all your Settings

Your iPhone controls a variety of settings, including WiFi passwords and network setups, as well as location and privacy settings. While it’s unlikely that any of these settings are causing your iPhone to restart on its own, it’s possible.

The most probable issue is your network settings, so try resetting them first to see if that addresses the problem. Launch the Settings app and then select General. Tap Transfer or Reset iPhone, then Reset. Finally, tap Reset Network Settings and confirm your decision.

If it does not resolve your issue, return to the Reset menu and select Reset All Settings. This will delete a greater range of customized preferences, so preserve it as a last option.

Wrapping It Up

If you’re experiencing the frustrating issue of your iPhone randomly restarting, don’t worry — you’re not alone. Thankfully, there are a few simple things you can try to fix the problem. First of all, try force-restarting your phone. Also, make sure your iPhone is running the latest version of iOS. If that doesn’t solve the issue, try resetting your iPhone’s settings or restoring it from a backup. If those options don’t work, you may need to take your iPhone to an Apple Store for further diagnosis and repairs.
