The Xiaomi Mi A-series is always the first to receive new security patch updates, but the series has been canceled. There’s this problem of hard brick with every Android OS OS update for the series. That’s part of the reasons why it was suspended. However, updates never stop coming for the Mi A3, Mi A2, and Mi A2 Lite, although the devices are on their last days of support.
The Mi A2 Lite is supposedly receiving its last security patch update, given that it’s been three years since the launch. According to Android One Policy, phones launched under the series are eligible for two Android OS updates and at least three years of security support. To put that in context to the Mi A2 Lite: the device debuted in July 2018 with Android 8. It picked up the Android 9 update in 2019 and 2020, received Android 10. Since then, it has been receiving only patch updates, and from the look of it, the June 2021 security patch update for the Mi A2 Lite could be the last.
Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite’s latest security patch update is seeding for global users. It has a version number – V11.0.20.0 QDLMIXM – and weighs in at 10.71MB. That shows the package only brings the June security patch while reducing lags and increasing system stability. Luckily, it’s a stable rollout, meaning Xiaomi has released the update for everyone. However, it might still take some time before appearing on your device. But as always, you can use the links below to download the ROM.
