Xiaomi sub-brand, Redmi, released the Redmi K40s alongside the Redmi K50 and K50 Pro. It’s been only a few weeks since hitting the shelves, and as usual, they’ve been getting new updates to address bugs and optimize performance. The latest Redmi K40s stable update supposedly addresses an annoying bug while optimizing performance and stability.
Redmi K40s debuted with Android 12 on top of MIUI 13. It is likely to arrive on international markets as POCO F4, and the few time spent on the device, proves it has everything needed to drive sales. Performance and haptics have been great, while scrolling is smooth. Overall, the Redmi K40s is a great device, but it has one annoying bug, which has been fixed with the latest update.
I noticed that some notifications are grouped as unimportant, and hence no sounds when such apps get a new notification. Surprisingly, Whatsapp is flagged as unimportant, and it didn’t change even after opening multiple messages from the notification bar. Other apps are also wrongly flagged as unimportant, but the latest Redmi K40s stable update fixed it.
Also, the update optimized touch controls in games, freezing on the control center sometimes, permanent notification for Gallery, and fixed other issues. Currently, only limited users can download the build, but you can use the download link below.
