Latest update: Xiaomi MI 8 Explorers gets MIUI 10.1.2.0 PEHCNFI update

Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer is the latest devices in the MI 8 series currently receiving an update. It’s coming through with a version number MIUI 10.1.2.0 PEHCNFI. The update is based on Android Pie and also comes with lots of new features and improvements aside all the Android Pie Goodies.

960fps video mode


Xiaomi MI 8 Explorer before the latest update could only shoot video at 240fps but the latest update has topped it to 960fps. The same feature, however, debuted with MI Mix 3, while both MI 8 and MI Mix 2s got the feature two weeks after the MIUI 10.8.11.8 update.


Super Night scene

The supper night scene has been trending for some time now and you can now enjoy it on your Mi 8 Explorer. The tech allows the camera to take up to 8 photos at different condition schemes and then merges it into one sharp and a super quality shot.

System improvement and bug fixes

  • Screen turning off when listening to a WhatsApp audio message has been fixed.
  • Ringtone audio cracking sounds while getting a call is now fixed.
  • VoLTE is not working – Fixed.
  • P-sensor not working correctly – Fixed.
  • Sound distorted during a call in Line – Fixed.
  • Icon not displaying correctly after setting icon – fixed.
  • Video clips can now be shot up to 15 seconds.

The MIUI 10.1.2.0 PEHCNFI is currently hitting those devices in China. It weighs about 1.2GB and would require you download through a Wi-Fi. Still yet to get the update, then navigate to setting>>my device to scan for a new update.


Note: since is an OTA update, is likely to experience some delay before getting to every compatible device, be patient if the update hasn’t got to your device yet, as it’s normal for such updates.
