A couple of months ago, we were anticipating the release of MIUI 13, but instead, Xiaomi announced the arrival of MIUI 12.5. From the features of the current iteration of MIUI, which has already arrived for a handful of users, especially in China, the update is an enhanced version of MIUI 12.
That looks like it, given that the company promised to fix most of the bugs facing its custom skin, which increased with the adoption of Android 11. And while Xiaomi is yet to start rolling out the MIUI 12.5 update globally to more users, the plans for MIUI 13 are already in place. Perhaps, the company didn’t stop the development but needed to improve its custom skin with the release of MIUI 12.5. Now, MIUI 13 is on the news again, with the latest news hinting at the June 25 launch time frame.
As expected, a list of Xiaomi phones eligible for MIUI 13 has started surfacing on the internet. Of course, it’s not an official list but compiled from the Xiaomi update policy. And going by the latest list prepared by Xiaomiui, the Redmi Note 7 and Mi 8 series might miss out on the update. According to the Telegram channel, the Redmi Note 7 series and Mi 8 series development version have ended, giving them a slim chance of getting the MIUI 13 update.
As for the Mi CC9e, it’s unclear if the device will receive MIUI 13. However, that’s likely, given that the device is essentially the same as Redmi Note 8. According to the list, the Note 8 series will receive MIUI 13, which increases the chance for Mi CC9e. The POCO F1 misses completely, and that was expected for a device launch in 2018.
