With the Mi A3 the only phone launched under the Mi A-series with active support, Xiaomi has continued to deliver timely updates to the device. The March security patch for the device arrived for the global users on March 16, and it seems the European models are now getting the update as well. It’s a stable release, but as usual with all OTA rollouts, it will take some time before the update arrives on your device.
Xiaomi released the Mi A3 in 2019, and it happens to be the last device under the series. The lineup which runs stock Android got discontinued probably due to bugs encountered during each major Android upgrade. Sometimes, the monthly security patch comes with its bug, but that hasn’t happened lately. That is also the case with the March security patch for Mi A3, given the feedback from users.
Global users are getting the update with a version number -V12.0.21.0 RFQMIXM in a 9.57MB package. In Europe, it comes as V12.0.18.0 RFQEUXM, with both builds delivering the March 2022 security patch. Supposedly, the update has improved security, fixed bugs, stability of the device, and performance. Unfortunately, there haven’t been reports on any bugs fixed by this update, but it doesn’t seem to introduce any, and hence, we recommend installing to improve performance and security.
