Owing to the Android One policy, Xiaomi has just released the March security patch update for the Mi A3 globally. The device seems to be the last Xiaomi Mi A-series device given that up till now, the company hasn’t introduced a successor. It is also the only device in the series eligible for the Android 11 update, which has since been released. However, the update left a few bugs, and the current update has fixed some of them.

Meanwhile, the update is hitting eligible users with a version number – V12.0.7.0 RFQMIXM and weighs in at 184MB. It has bumped the Android security patch level to March 2021 to improve system security. The update also improved the stability of the device while fixing some bugs and glitches.

From the feedback on the Mi A3 telegram channel, the update is safe to install. It seems to have fixed the bug with Instagram live stories. Unfortunately, that’s the only fix we could confirm at the time of this writing. However, more importantly, the March security patch update for the Mi A3 is free from bugs, but there’s a heads up. After downloading and installing the update, on rebooting, it will take the device longer time to boot up.

That’s not an issue, but you should let it boot as trying to reboot the device will have it on boot loop. Luckily, nothing else is wrong with the build, and as such, you should download and install when prompted. You can check for the update via system updates as that is the only option to install the update for now. And for those that install their builds manually, you might have to check back later for the download links.
