Android 11 is said to have the highest adoption rate, and Xiaomi might be the driving force. While some OEMs are yet to start updating their flagship phones from last year to the current Android OS, Xiaomi will soon finalize the upgrade. The company has been swiftly rolling out the update to eligible devices, and you can check for all Xiaomi phones that have received Android 11 here. And yes, the Xiaomi Mi 10T and Mi 10T Pro Android 11 update was released a while ago, but in India and Europe. It has now extended to the global users, and as usual, only a select few will receive the update. The public rollout is pending for now until the beta preview is completed.
The update brings a stable MIUI based on Android 11 alongside the February 2021 security patch to improve the system security and stability. Although it’s tagged “stable MIUI,” still backup your data before downloading and installing the update. MIUI updates, especially cross-section Android upgrades, are synonymous with bugs and lags. Therefore, you should back up your data in case a factory reset becomes necessary after installation.
Meanwhile, the Xiaomi Mi 10T and Mi 10T Pro Android 11 update is hitting eligible units with a version number – MIUI 12.1.1.0 RJDMIXM. It comes in a 2.8GB package and would arrive via OTA over the next few days. If you don’t have the luxury of patience, you can use the link below for manual installation. However, it might return an error message, and that would mean you don’t have an authorized Mi Beta account. The only option is to wait for the OTA or make use of TWRP if you have got one installed.
