MIUI 12.5 update for Poco phones in the works; POCO F1 might get the update

Xiaomi finally unveiled the MIUI 12.5 globally two days ago. The update, according to the rollout schedule, will start rolling out in Q2 (April). It will arrive for the Mi 10 series and the Mi 11 before making it to other Xiaomi phones. Meanwhile, the list only has a few eligible phones on it and has cast doubt, especially among the POCO fans. The Poco phones on the list are POCO F2 Pro and X3/NFC. They’ll receive the update in the Q2 ending, and with the POCO F1 not on the list, speculation on whether the phone will receive the MIUI 12.5 has once more gained momentum.

MIUI 12.5 update for POCO phones

As always, POCO fans were quick to verify from the Support team, but the reply wasn’t convincing. When quizzed, “when Poco F1 update MIUI 12.5,” could only reply that the company is working to roll out the update as soon as possible. The reply didn’t specify if the POCO F1 will receive the update. From the screenshot posted in the POCO Telegram channel, the Poco “Indian” Support confirmed the MIUI 12.5 update for Poco phones is in the works.

It’s unclear from the Support reply if the POCO F1 will receive the MIUI 12.5 along with other Poco phones. However, given that the update will improve the performance and stability of MIUI 12, the POCO F1 should receive the update. Also, there have been a series of bugs reported by Mi Fans after the MIUI 12 update, which is probably the reason behind MIUI 12.5. If that’s the case, then the MIUI 12.5 update for Poco phones allegedly in the works will also arrive for the POCO F1.

That said, we will be on the lookout for more information about the MIUI 12.5 update for Poco phones. So far, only the POCO F2 Pro and X3/NFC have been officially confirmed to receive the update. And yes, many Poco phones are yet to be added to the list, and we hope to find out soon. You should follow our MIUI 12.5 update tracker to stay updated.
