Xiaomi has now released a stable MIUI 12.5 update for the Mi 11i and Mi 11 Lite 5G. It’s a public release meaning the update will soon appear on eligible units. However, given the nature of OTAs, only the European models of the Mi 11i and Taiwan version of the Mi 11 Lite 5G are receiving the new MIUI OS. The update brings optimization but failed to address some bugs affecting phones performance.
There has been a call by Mi Fans for Xiaomi to address the issues facing its MIUI Android skin. These issues increased after the adoption of MIUI 12 and Android 11, which the company acknowledged and promised to make adjustments. Since then, they have addressed some of the issues and promised further improvement with MIUI 12.5. The update has since arrived for a bunch of phones, and it’s now available for Mi 11i and Mi 11 Lite 5G.
It’s the European variants of the Mi 11i that are receiving a stable MIUI 12.5.2.0 RKKEUXM. The update comes in a 600MB package while Mi 11 Lite 5G is receiving MIUI 12.5.1.0 RKITWXM. Both rollouts have the same changes and did improve the performance of the device. However, the third-party launcher issue persists, meaning you’ll have to stick with the MIUI system launcher.
