Back in April, when Xiaomi introduced the MIUI 12 in China, the Redmi Note 8 was in a closed beta testing for Android 10, and because of that, MIUI 12 closed beta test was delayed for the device. Meanwhile, the device has since received its first MIUI 12 beta update, which was based on Android 10. It has also continued to pick the weekly beta updates and has now picked that of this week.
The build version is V20.9.3. It’s based on Android 10 and will progressively arrive for all eligible users – those who were enrolled in Chinese closed beta test. You can as well side-load the ROM using TWRP Recovery, but that might be a long shot, given all that’s required. However, if you don’t mind going through that route, then follow this guide and learn how to flash MIUI 12 ROM using TWRP Recovery.
Also, since the weekly MIUI 12 beta has been consistently rolled out to the Redmi Note 8, it won’t be much longer until the stable version is ready for public rollout. The update, aside from all the features of MIUI 12, will also bring the much anticipated Android 10 update. That will sure complete the rollout for the Note 8 series.
Meanwhile, today’s update is the last build for the following devices; Xiaomi Mi 8, Mi 8 Explorer Edition, Mi 8 Pro (UD), Mi 8 SE, Mi 8 Lite, Mi Max 3, Mi Mix 2, and Mi Mix 2S. It’s recommended pthat users of these phones switch to the stable version of the MIUI 12.
