MIUI 13

MIUI 13 June launch date debunked by official Xiaomi

Xiaomi has only started pushing the stable MIUI 12.5 update to the global units, weeks after the rollout started in China. While only a few eligible phones have received the update globally, rumors of MIUI 13 – the next iteration on MIUI – launch date have already surfaced online. It was almost impossible to believe the rumoured MIUI 13 June 25th launch date, given the schedule. The company had only started rolling out stable MIUI 12.5 update, which currently has all the attention. However, the Xiaomi never communicates when to expect a new iteration of its Android skins. We always learn about that from closed beta release notes and on the rumor mills.

MIUI 13 June launch date

Nevertheless, Xiaomi has come out to debunk the MIUI 13 June launch date. According to the company’s head of the Public Relations Department, Wang Hua, MIUI 13 will not launch in June. Unfortunately, the executive didn’t say when the next iteration will debut, but as usual, we’ll learn about that from closed beta release notes. He stressed that he couldn’t fault those who believe the launch date because it looked convincing. Those who reported the news did that after seeing what looked like an official poster from Xiaomi. And according to the executive, they had so much technicality, and that’s why it was convincing.

And while Xiaomi has confirmed the MIUI 13 June launch date as fake, the list of eligible phones to receive the update isn’t. At least for the list prepared by Xiaomiui, that took into consideration Xiaomi’s pattern of rolling out major updates. You can check the complete list here, but note, that’s not official. Again, it’s based on Xiaomi update policy, and hence, if your device isn’t on the list, you should probably wait until the official list is out. That, however, won’t surface until MIUI 13 is presented officially, meaning we have got a long time to wait.

For now, all focus is on MIUI 12.5. The latest iteration of MIUI is already seeding for a handful of devices. We expect more phones to receive the update soon, and you can follow our tracker to stay updated.
