It’s looking like Xiaomi will release its next flagship device before December. The Chinese company, for the past two years, has released its new premium device in December, which always sees the debut of a new iteration of MIUI. It seems the company has settled for a different launch time, and hence, we might see the MIUI 15 update in October.
It’s no secret that Xiaomi is already testing the MIUI 15 build for some phones. About 20 Xiaomi and Redmi phones are currently testing the build based on Android 14 in China. However, only developers have access to these builds, but with the recent development, we expect registered beta testers to get the update in the coming days.
The Xiaomi 14 series is expected to debut before November 11 due to the predecessor being out of stock on all platforms. Perhaps the Xiaomi 13 series exceeded sales expectations, and the company felt it was wise to release the successor before the usual time frame. As usual, we expect the MIUI 15 update to arrive in the same event but for beta testers.
If the October release date for the Xiaomi 14 series is true, we expect registered beta testers to start receiving the MIUI 15 update after the announcement. Xiaomi has always introduced its flagship phone and a new iteration of MIUI at the same event, and we expect that to continue.
Nevertheless, we recommend taking everything with a pinch of salt, as Xiaomi hasn’t confirmed the report. Also, Qualcomm is yet to release the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 that will power the Xiaomi 14 series. They will officially release the processor on October 24, and we doubt the possibility of seeing the Xiaomi 14 series in the same month.
