Xiaomi has improved its security patch update rollout, with the company already distributing the September security patch. While these updates improve performance and resolve bugs, sometimes it breaks something or introduces a new bug. That has been the case with some recent rollouts, which are causing system lag, cannot connect to the internet, and can’t use data.
Every week, Xiaomi, through the MIUI weekly bug report, provides insight on issues affecting some of its phones. With the Vol. 88, the company has detailed the cause of system lag affecting the Redmi Note 9 after the Android 12 upgrade. They also mentioned the progress with Redmi Note 11 Pro 4G and Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G. The duo, after a recent update, can’t connect to the internet or use mobile data, respectively.
According to the MIUI weekly bug report, the Redmi Note 11 Pro 4G units running MIUI 13.0.1.0 SGDEUXM, would receive a new update (MIUI 13.0.3.0 SGDEUXM) in the coming days to address the issue of “cannot connect to the internet.”
Meanwhile, the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G users might have to wait a bit longer as the company is still working on a fix for the “cannot use data” issue. It’s worth noting that the problem only affects the units running MIUI 13.0.4.0 RKCJPRK.
As for Redmi Note 9 system lag and random freeze, a new update is expected soon to resolve the issues. Affected units are the global models running MIUI 13.0.1.0 SJOMIXM. You can follow us on Telegram to know when these fixed builds start rolling out.
