The wait for the Redmi Note 9 Android 12 update is now over for the global users, as the rollout starts in the region. It’s the Mi Pilots members receiving the much-anticipated upgrade for preview before public rollout in the coming days.

Xiaomi has quietly changed its update policy to offer two Android OS to mid-range phones. A couple of years ago, they only got one OS upgrade before things changed with Redmi Note 8. The update has version number MIUI 13.0.1.0 SJOMIXM and weighs 2.8GB. It brings a stable MIUI based on Android 12 and bumps the security patch level to July 2022. There has also been an introduction of new features, optimizations, and bug fixes.

The update comes with a version number MIUI 13.0.5.0 SJOINXM and brings the much-anticipated stable MIUI based on Android 12.
