Xiaomi came back with a bang after the Chinese New year holiday. Nearly 48 hours after the developers returned to work, they’ve rolled out Android 11 updates to some eligible users. The Redmi Note 8 is the latest device to bag the update, which is currently arriving for Chinese users, but we hope for a global rollout very soon. Meanwhile, a new Android 11-based MIUI 12 update for the Mi 10 Lite has been released for European users. As usual, it’s on a limited rollout and will take some time before it appears on your device.
The update is hitting eligible users with a version number – MIUI 12.1.4.0 RJIEUXM – and weighs in at 280MB. That’s the package size for devices running Android 11. You should expect a big-sized update in the region of 2.8GB if you haven’t upgraded your device to the latest OS yet. And aside from bumping the Android version, the security patch level has been updated to January 2021 to improve system security and stability.
To scan for the new Android 11-based MIUI 12 update for Mi 10 Lite, you should head over to the System Updates. However, since the update only went live a few hours ago, it might take some time before appearing on your device. Therefore, if you check and nothing is there, exercise some patience or follow the link below for manual installation. You might get an error message, but that should clear after some time, and you would be able to flash the ROM. Otherwise, you should wait for the OTA to arrive on your device.
