Xiaomi has been working on the next iteration of its MIUI but has concealed the launch date until today. According to the official poster, the Xiaomi MIUI 13 will debut on December 28, exactly one year after the MIUI 12.5 release. The update will debut alongside the Xiaomi 12 series phones, which are expected to run the build outside of the box. And while we are waiting for the MIUI 13 release, the global Mi 11 has received a new Android 12 update globally.
The Xiaomi Mi 11 received its first stable beta Android 12 update a couple of weeks ago. Xiaomi had to halt the rollout after it was reported to be causing some serious issues. Meanwhile, they were quick to release a fixed build, but that has been that since then. Surprisingly, they have released a new Android 12 update for the global Mi 11.
It’s expected that the MIUI 13 build will be based on Android 12. Xiaomi has already prepared a stable Android 12 update for the flagship Mi 11, which might start rolling out soon. Perhaps, the new update might be for the 200 people that enrolled on the Android 12 stable beta testing. Hence, we recommend only those with an authorized Mi Beta account to install the build.
The update is seeding with a version number – MIUI 12.5.8.0 RKBMIXM and weighs 213MB. Of course, it comes with features of Android 12, although the changelog says otherwise. Aside from that, it has bumped the Android security patch level to November 2021 to increase system security and stability.
