New boot animation with the new Mi logo starts rolling out to Mi 11 series and Mi Mix Fold

The Xiaomi MIUI Android skin has been around for something new but still needs polishing to meet users’ demands. Of course, that’s work in process as the company keeps pushing new features on a daily/weekly basis with each closed beta builds. In the last couple of days, we have seen the new battery modes, virtual RAM expansion, and more. According to reports, the latest Closed Beta update introduced a new boot animation and has seen the new Mi logo replaced the old one.

A couple of months back, Xiaomi CEO, Lei Jun during a product launch, unveils the new Mi Logo. It’s not different from the old version, given that the only difference is perhaps, the rounded edges. The logo was designed by Kenya Hara, in a deal worth up to 2,000,000 CNY (~$308,704). As anticipated, the company is now releasing an update to replace the old logo on its booting animation. They have removed some transition animations.

Meanwhile, only the Xiaomi Mi 11 series devices and Mi Mix Fold have their booting animation replaced. It’s expected to arrive on other phones over the next few months participating in the closed beta tests. It depends on the feedback, anyways, as Xiaomi might decide to start pushing the new animation to the public or revert to old ones. That’s unlikely, though, and hence, we expect the new boot animation to arrive as part of MIUI 13 changes.
