Here are the new features coming to Android phones

Google will release the first Android 14 Quarterly update next month. It will bring new features and optimization, while the company has already started working on new features. The latest Android 14 QPR2 Beta 1 update shows features coming to Android, which are exclusive to Pixel phones.

Aside from Android OS upgrades, Google releases new features with its Quarterly Platform Releases. As expected the latest release has introduced some new features, but exclusive to beta testers for now. These features will arrive for the public in March next year, though we expect the first Quarterly update next month for everyone.

New Features Coming to Pixel Android

These features will not come to your Pixel phones until March 2024 unless you are part of the Beta testers. If you are, you should have gotten the Android 14 QPR2 Beta 1 update, which introduces some of these features.

Redesign Volume Control widget

The new Android 14 QPR2 Beta 1 update has revamped the volume control bar. It usually appears when you want to adjust the volume of your media. You will notice that the blank area is now the same width as the progress bar.

Hide At Glance Widget

Google is working on a way that users can hide the At a Glance Widget. According to Google News, the tech giant will add a button “Add At a Glance to Home screen” in the Pixel Launcher settings. Of course, when you toggle it off, you can add a new widget in that location. However, the feature is still under internal testing and only developers can access it.

Single App screen recording

You can choose between recording the Entire screen of a Single app. Tapping on the Quick Settings to record screen brings up the two options. If you select Single App, a menu pops up to select the app you wish to record. However, when recording a single app, there’s no option to show screen touches, but it’s on Entire Screen opinion.i

Interestingly, if you exit the app, your device will stop the recording, but you still need to end the session. It is undoubtedly a good feature as it will prevent accidental capturing.
