Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro, known as Redmi K20 Pro in select markets, is eligible for Android 11 and MIUI 12.5. The update has already arrived for the Chinese users, while the vanilla version – Mi 9T – has started receiving Android 11-based MIUI 12 update in India. Meanwhile, the latter is on a limited rollout, and with the bugs introduced by the build, it will take some time before the public starts getting it. For the Mi 9T Pro, with this latest release, only the Chinese models are running Android 11 at the moment, but it could be the next update for the global users.
The Mi 9T Pro is eligible for Android 11, no doubt, but it will receive the update alongside MIUI 12.5. Xiaomi already rolled out a stable Android 11-based MIUI 12.5 update for the device in China, and it will follow the same approach for the global variants. Hence, the new global stable Mi 9T Pro update is probably the last Android 10-based MIUI 12 update that’ll be rolled out for the device. It makes sense to download the update to fortify the device ahead of the upgrade, which could be weeks away.
The new global stable Mi 9T Pro update is seeding with a version number – MIUI 12.0.6.0 QFKMIXM – and weighs in at 261MB. It’s a security patch build that brings the May Android security patch to increase system security. Of course, it has fixed minor bugs while optimizing the device ahead of the Android 11 and MIUI 12.5 upgrades.
Unfortunately, we don’t know when Xiaomi plans to start rolling out the build.
