There have been so many reports about the possibility of seeing the MIUI 12 update, which will bring Android 10 starts arriving on the Note 8 this month. All hope came crashing when a stable MIUI 11 based Android 9 update was released for the Indian users a couple of days ago. And now, a new global update for the Redmi Note 8 has been released as well, meaning the possibility of seeing MIUI 12 in these regions, at least, this month is very slim.
Meanwhile, the same thing can’t be said about the Chinese users. Usually, they are the first set of people to receive any major update and are yet to receive the current patch update. Also, the Redmi Note 8 has been in a closed beta testing for the MIUI 12 for some time now, and it won’t be surprising to see the update starts arriving in China this month, though.
But while we wait for the MIUI 12 update, it’s important to fortify your device. The new global update for the Redmi Note brings some enhancement. It bumps the security patch while improving system security and performance.
Thus far, users in Pakistan and Bangladesh have reported receiving the update. However, if you haven’t got a prompt notification, you should perform a manual scan by heading to System Updates or follow the link below and manually download.
Meanwhile, the update has a version number, MIUI 11.0.10.0 PCOMIXM, and weighs in at 275MB. It’s a monthly patch update that brings the August security patch.
