According to a recent report, Xiaomi will officially introduce the latest iteration of its in-house Android skin – MIUI 12.5 – on February 8. The event will also see the global unveiling of the Xiaomi Mi 11, and as such, we might see a repeat of the Chinese presentation – MIUI 12.5 before the Xiaomi Mi 11 presentation. Of course, the Mi 10T/Pro – rebadged Redmi K30S Ultra – will receive the update alongside Android 11. However, the build is currently in the closed beta test in China while a new Mi 10T/Pro update with January 2021 patch starts rolling out globally.
Xiaomi is pushing the update to a few selected users that’ll preview the ROM for bugs. They’re to report back to developers on detecting any form of bug, but in the absence of any, we could see a wider release in the next few days. However, you can install the new Mi 10T/Pro update via the download links below and flash.
Meanwhile, if you opt for OTA, you will receive the update with a version number – MIUI 12.0.11.0 QJDMIXM – in a 415MB package. It brings the January 2021 security patch to improve system security and stability. Also, the network signal in some regions has been optimized in this latest build.
As for the MIUI 12.5 global release plan, we expect to learn about that after the February 28 announcement. However, we anticipate a similar rollout schedule with the Chinese version that’ll start pushing a stable version in April. The Mi 10T/Pro may be on the first wave of the rollout, and if that’s the case, then the update might arrive sooner. Nevertheless, we still wait on Xiaomi on the confirmation, and they’ll do that in the coming days, hopefully.
