Xiaomi announced it’s new MIUI 12 Android skin on April 27TH at an event held in China, which also saw the official unveiling of the Mi 10 Youth ( Mi 10 Lite). The MIUI 12 is currently in closed Beta testing, and according to the schedule released by Xiaomi, the Stable MIUI 12 update will start pushing towards the end of June.
However, a new MIUI 12 Beta update for Mi 8 has started arriving. It’s arriving with a build number MIUI 12.20.4.30 and weighs in at 138MB. The update is the second MIUI 12 Beta to arrive on the device, which is to improve stability and also optimize the system performance.

The update will progressively arrive on all Mi 8 phones testing the MIUI 12. However, you will be able to receive the stable version of the update from June, if you didn’t register for the Closed Beta testing.
According to the schedule released by Xiaomi during the official unveiling of the MIUI 12, the Mi 8 will start receiving the stable MIUI 12 update from July. But that can still change considering how Xiaomi rolls out updates and in the absence of any serious issue, the update will probably arrive earlier.
