Xiaomi never stops improving its MIUI Android skin, and that’s evident in the recent MIUI 12.5, which started rolling out a couple of days ago. The latest iteration of MIUI presents cool features, but more impressively, it has reduced power and background memory usage. MIUI is now lighter, faster, and smooth. With that, Xiaomi can seamlessly introduce more features to its system apps, something the company is never shy of doing. As always, they are currently rolling out a new MIUI gallery app to the Chinese branch of MIUI. The update has a version number – V2.2.19 – and adds support for adding smartphone frames to screenshots.
There’s a new feature called artistic photos and magic cutout that has been added with the new MIUI gallery app. It lets you edit pictures on your phone and make them look artistic. You can also add some magic using the magic features. Also, you can now adjust the photo layout. The new MIUI Gallery app lets you choose which image you like to see in “photos.” From the screenshot above, you can choose to show pictures taken by camera or all photos. You can adjust the settings when you first launch the app or from the Gallery app settings.
Another change is the date format. Before the new MIUI Gallery app update, months are shown with alphabets, but now in numbers. Meanwhile, not all Xiaomi phones received these features with these updates. As for adding a frame to a screenshot, it is only Mi 11 and Mi 10S. For Artistic photos and magic cutout, they are available for Mi Mix 2S, Mi Mix 3, Mi 8, Mi 9, Mi 9 Pro, Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro, Mi 10 Ultra, Mi 10S, Redmi K20 Pro, Redmi K20 Pro premium edition, Redmi K30 Pro series.
