The POCO C3 and Redmi 9A become the first Xiaomi phones to receive the January security patch update. Even the POCO F2 Pro that started receiving a stable MIUI 12 based Android 11 update a few hours ago received the December patch. Nevertheless, the January security patch will still go round, but those using the POCO M3 and Redmi 9A will install it first.
The new POCO C3 and Redmi 9A update is arriving for the device users in India. It’s a limited rollout at the moment, which means only a few selected users will receive the update. And, for the few that have received the update, on their POCO C3, it comes as MIUI 12.0.5.0 QCRINXM. Redmi 9A users are receiving an update with a version number, MIUI 12.0.8.0 QCDINXM, both OTA bound.
As per the changelog, the updates bring the January security patch and improved system security. It also optimized system performance and fixed some minor bugs. You can scan the update via Updater App (System Updates) or follow the links below to download.
And with MIUI 12.5 on the horizon, we recommend that you update your device when prompted to be among the first few that’ll receive the next iteration of MIUI. Xiaomi will officially introduce the new Android skin on December 28, a couple of days from today. And yes, POCO C3 and Redmi 9A will receive the MIUI 12.5 update.
