The latest Xiaomi MIUI Android skin (MIUI 12.5) has been around for some weeks now. From the features it presents, it’s basically on improving the current version. MIUI is now lighter, faster, efficient, and now uses fewer cores than before. The power consumption has been reduced to 25% while a new MIUI 12.5 power menu and volume panel are now integrated into the system.
Meanwhile, even before the MIUI 12.5 was officially unveiled three weeks ago, those in the closed beta group already received the new power menu and volume panel with MIUI 12 beta update. The new power menu UI uses a vertical bar and a toggle to switch off or restart the phone. For the volume panel, it’s more of extra customization added to sound and vibration settings.
As said earlier, the new power menu and volume panel is a feature of the newly released MIUI 12.5. It’ll arrive with the update on your phone, but you can try it out even before it arrives officially with this latest guide. According to our source, the changes work on Xiaomi phones running Android 10/11 on top of MIUI 12.
However, if it doesn’t work on your device, you can uninstall it. Go to settings >> Apps >> Manage Apps >> Search “system UI-controls” >> click on it and you will find “uninstall updates” option below.
How to enable the MIUI 12.5 new power menu and volume panel
- Step 1. Head over to this link and download the APK file
- Step 2. On completion, look for the app on your device downloads folder and start the installation
- Step 3. After installation, close the package installer
That’s all, and you should see the changes on your phone, but if not, you might need to reboot the device. You should go ahead and uninstall the update after rebooting, and nothing changes. Also, those running Android 9 and below shouldn’t install the app.
