New Redmi 7A update – MIUI 11.0.18.0 PCMMIXM

Android 10 now arriving on Chinese Redmi 7A

As we continue waiting on Android 10 for Redmi 7A, the entry-level device is now getting a new update. The update started dropping a few days ago with a build number MIUI 11.0.18.0 PCMMIXM and weighs 403MB. It’s an update that squashes bug, updates the android security patch to March and also optimize system performance.

Apart from the changes that appeared on the Changelog, the device now supports ambient mode. When the device is plugged in charging, the screen lets you see notifications without turning on your phone display.

Luckily, no bug has been reported yet, so we believe the update is safe. Therefore, you should go ahead and download the new Redmi 7A update if you have been promoted to do so. Otherwise, go to Settings> My device> MIUI> Scan for updates.

Note that the update is a staged rollout and will take some time before it gets to all compatible devices. In a situation where you haven’t got the update, do exercise some patience and check back later, and don’t forget to leave feedback after updating the new build.

About Android 10 for Redmi 7A, we don’t have a time frame as to when the update will start arriving. However, the device will get the update, and it’s expected to start arriving very soon.
