Xiaomi Redmi 7A Android 10 starts arriving with stable MIUI 11

Xiaomi has updated a bunch of its smartphones to Android 10, and it’s expected the few eligible ones yet to receive the update, will get it as a part of MIUI 12. But it seems that’s not the case, perhaps for the Chinese models. The Xiaomi Redmi 7A Android 10 is now arriving for the Chinese variant with a stable MIUI 11 build.

Important hint

This update is an Android cross-section upgrade, and to reduce the upgrade risk, it’s recommended you back up personal data in advance.

Also, some third-party applications have not adapted to Android 10. Therefore, if you encounter any compatibility issue, see the community announcement, or perform a factory reset, and that’ll fix the issue, but remember to back up before.

Thus far, the Xiaomi Redmi 7A Android 10 update is only available in China, but that gives hope to the global users. The Chinese units are always first to get major updates, which after some weeks, becomes available globally. But considering that MIUI 12 has been scheduled to start arriving this month and with Redmi 7A expected to receive the update in July, global users might have to wait until that time to receive a stable Android 10 build.

Nevertheless, you can check the Updater app if you’re using the Chinese version of the device. Check the version number of the update against that of your phone, and should it correspond, then you will get the update very soon.
