Xiaomi is now sending out a new Redmi 9 stable update in Europe. The update started rolling out today, but it’s yet another underwhelming release as it sans the much anticipated MIUI 12. Even the list of Xiaomi phones that have received the MIUI 12 update, which was released yesterday, had the Redmi 9 on it, and surprisingly, the company is currently rolling out stable MIUI 11 update to the devices in Europe.
The reason is simple, MIUI 12 isn’t yet ready for that particular region, and why Xiaomi had it on the list that was released yesterday is that some region already received the update. We expect the update to arrive very soon, but first, you should download and install the new Redmi 9 stable update in Europe.
The update is coming with a version number, MIUI 11.0.9.0 QJCEUXM, and weighs in at 1.9GB. At that size, it’s supposed to bring more than just a security patch, but perhaps, Xiaomi doesn’t think so. Hence, you’ve got to download a massive 1.9GB package, or you wait for the MIUI 12, but that will probably increase the size of the package.
Aside from bumping the security patch level to November 2020, it has also improved the system security and stability. You’re going to receive the update via OTA, or you can follow the link below and download manually. We have a post here on how to flash Recovery ROM on Xiaomi phones if you decide on manual flashing.
