New Redmi 9A update: first published in December 2020. Check for latest releases below…

When it comes to device support, no other brand does it better than Xiaomi. From what seems to be the company’s update policy, entry-level phones like the Redmi 9A get a minimum of two years of support. In that time, it’ll receive a single OS upgrade, which is maximum for Xiaomi phones in that category.

New Redmi 9A update

The Redmi 9A has only been around for six months, having debuted in July last year. It was released running Android 10 on top of MIUI 12, and that makes it eligible for MIUI 12.5 and Android 11. Both updates are not available yet, but a new Redmi 9A update is currently arriving with the January 2021 security patch.

The new Redmi 9A update is available in Europe, Russia, and also for global users. It’s coming with a version number, MIUI 12.0.10.0 QCDEUXM for the EU models, while Russian users are getting a MIUI 12.0.7.0 QCDRUXM package. The global users have been receiving a MIUI 12.0.10.0 QCDMIXM for some days now. It weighs in at 193MB and is currently arriving for a few selected users.

As per the update Changelog, it’s the same changes for all the models. It bumps the security patch level to January 2021 and improved system security. You’ll also notice other changes and improvements in the device’s performance.

However, it might take some time before the new Redmi 9A update gets to your device. But you can make use of the links below this post and download the ROM rather than wait. And make sure to download the correct ROM version of your device to avoid any error.
