Xiaomi is rolling out a new Redmi Note 8 update, a few days after it’s 2018 flagship – Mi 8 received Android 10. The Redmi Note 8 debuted a few months ago with MIUI 10 on top Android Pie, running Snapdragon 665 Octa-Core processor. The phone has since updated to MIUI 11, but the new operating system – Android 10 is yet to arrive.
Meanwhile, the device is currently getting a new stable update, coming with a build number MIUI 11.0.4.0POCOMIXM and weighs 657MB. It has the same Changelog with the MIUI 11.0.1.0 that arrived in both Redmi K20 and MI 8 but fails to bring the Android 10 update to the device, rather it updated the security patch level. The Security Patch now dates 01-12-2019.
The new Redmi Note 8 update Changelog

The Changelog is almost identical with the MIUI 11.0.1.0, except that it fails to bring Android 10 to Redmi Note 8. However, users will enjoy some additional features when shooting a short video. They include super slow, super-fast, filter by TikTok. It also brings smooth animation, smooth video recording, and improved battery performance.
From the Changelog, the update is for the global users and is likely to have arrived on your device. To check for the new Redmi Note 8 update, navigate to Settings> My Device> MIUI version. And if the update is yet to arrive, you’ll have to exercise some patience as OTA updates experience delays before getting to all eligible devices.
Also, you can speed up the process by turning “Receive Update Early” on the updater app settings. Navigate to My MIUI and click on the three dots at the top right corner, then turn the feature on from there.
