It’s been a while since Xiaomi rolled a new Redmi Note 8T update, but it could get busy for the device users very soon. The device is in-line to receive the Android 11 update, which could arrive as part of the MIUI 12.5 build. Both builds are currently under closed beta testing and should start rolling in April. And while the time frame seems far, there’s a new Redmi Note 8T update available to fortify your device ahead of the upgrade.
The current build is exclusive for the European users and comes with a build number – MIUI 12.0.2.0 QCXEUXM. It weighs in at 291MB and will arrive via OTA. However, only a few selected users will receive the update now, but we expect a wider rollout in the next coming days. But if you want to download the ROM and flash via the recovery method, we have attached a link below this post to help with it.
The update is a security patch build and has bumped the security patch level to January 2021. The system security and stability has also improved. It also fortifies the device ahead of the next Android version upgrade, which is expected to arrive alongside the MIUI 12.5 update.
Unfortunately, there’s no particular time frame as to when the update will start rolling out, but we hope to learn more about that in the coming days. You can follow our Android 11 update tracker to keep up to date with all Xiaomi phones that have received the update (Android 11).
