The wait for Android 11 continues for the Redmi Note 9S in many regions as the device starts pushing a new stable Android 10 – based MIUI 12 update in Europe. Xiaomi released the first Android 11-based MIUI 12 update for the device a couple of months ago. Naturally, it takes a few weeks after the first release for an update to reach more users, but it seems the reported bugs are yet to be fixed. Hence the company has delayed the public rollout to fix all the bugs before it restarts the rollout again. However, we might have to wait a bit longer as a new Redmi Note 9S update in Europe sans the much anticipated Android 11.
Xiaomi claims Android 11 adoption required a lot of work and has contributed to the laggy Android 11 builds. Perhaps, the reason why the update has been delayed for the Redmi Note 9S in some regions. However, we expect the rollout to commence soon, given that it has been a while since the first build arrived. We believe the new update is to fortify the device ahead of the Android 11 upgrade, which is another reason to download and install the new Redmi Note 9S update in Europe when prompted.

Redmi Note 9S is currently pushing a new stable Android 11-based MIUI 12 update globally. The build is exclusive for Mi Pilots and comes with a version number – MIUI 12.0.2.0 RJWMIXM – in a 748MB package. It brings April 2021 security patch to increase system security. Download here.
