With MIUI 12.5 expected to commence development next week, Xiaomi will work to bring the MIUI 12 update to more phones. Unfortunately, the Redmi 7 has been ruled out, but the Redmi 7A is very much in contention for the update. Now, the company is sending out a new stable update to the device with a new security patch, which is believed is going to prepare the device for a seamless transition to MIUI 12.
The new stable Redmi 7A update is hitting eligible users globally with a version number, MIUI 11.0.5.0 QCMMIXM. It’s OTA bound and will arrive on more devices very soon, alongside the November security patch, which has improved the system security. There are also some optimization, bug fixes and system performance baked inside the update as well.
Meanwhile, you can download and install the new stable Redmi 7A update manually, using the links below. However, you might encounter an error doing so, which is normal for all beta releases. If that happens, you should give it a time or wait for the update to arrive via OTA.
As for when Xiaomi will release MIUI 12 for the device, there’s currently no ETA, but since the MIUI 12.5 is now on the horizon, the company is likely to complete the MIUI 12 rollout. We hope before the end of the month or early next year, depending on when they get it ready.
That said, we are going to monitor the situation and will update this space once we get additional information. And if you opt for a manual download of the new stable Redmi 7A update, you should follow the link below.
