Supposed features of MIUI 12.5
After Xiaomi announced the MIUI 12, it started seeking user’s opinions on what they would like to see on the next iteration of MIUI. The company confirmed it was going to answer MIUI 13, but it seems that has changed to MIUI 12.5, according to early reports. Xiaomi is expected to bring most of the features currently being tested by the closed beta group to stable ROM users with the unveiling of MIUI 12.5.
Features of MIUI 12.5
Xiaomi has been testing a new power menu, a new volume rocker UI, new launcher animation, new arrangement of apps in recent, new camera interface, new cleaner user interface, new notification center, new icon style, desktop mode, voice control, and improved system animation.
New power menu
Xiaomi recently changed the power menu UI in one of the MIUI 12 closed beta updates. It makes use of a toggle that can slide up or down to switch or reboot the device. We expect more people to receive that particular feature with MIUI 12.5
New Volume Rocker UI
The new volume rocker UI has been enhanced. There hasn’t been any alteration, but the design has been improved.
New launcher animation
Xiaomi promised to improve the MIUI 12 animation, which will make operation even better. The company is already working on that and should get to stable ROM users with the release of MIUI 12.5. You’ll notice a smooth moving of apps and bobbles.
New recent arrangement
This particular feature is available for Beta testers and is going to arrive for stable ROM users once the MIUI 12.5 starts seeding. With this feature you can choose how you want apps to appear in recent: either horizontally or vertically.
New camera Interface
MIUI 12 introduced lots of camera functions, which has made the camera app a little complicated. However, with MIUI 12.5, the company is going to simplify the camera app and also make more features available.
New cleaner UI
Just like the weather app got a new UI with the MIUI 12 update, the cleaner app has also been optimized. The app now has a new UI, and more functions have also been introduced, for better analysis.
New notification center
MIUI 12 introduced a new control panel. Among the features of MIUI 12.5 is enhancing the control panel. It will also introduce a new notification center, which is close to what’s obtainable in Android 11.
Desktop mode
Xiaomi has been working on this feature for a while now. The Mi 10 Ultra already supports what Xiaomi calls Mi cross-screen collaboration, which allows you to operate your device from a PC. We expect wider support with the MIUI 12.5.
Improved system animation
There have been lots of reports about the MIUI 12 animation. Xiaomi promised to improve the system animation with the next iteration of MIUI. Now, we are going to see a massive improvement with MIUI 12.5.
New icon size
MIUI 12 already feature a way to choose icon size. However, there’s a feature of MIUI 12.5 that’s going to focus on improving the icon size. New styles are going to be added.
Convert photos to PDF and Renaming photos on the gallery app
This feature of MIUI 12.5 will allow users to convert photos to PDF from the gallery app. Also, the MIUI 12.5 update is going to bring support for renaming photos via the gallery app, a function you can only execute on file manager.
