New stable update for the Redmi Note 7 Pro arrives with January security patch ahead of MIUI 12.5 upgrade

The Redmi Note 7 Pro is on the official list of Xiaomi phones released, so far, that’ll receive the MIUI 12.5 update. A total of 28 Xiaomi phones have received the development version in China already, with the stable build expected to start rolling out in April. And while the global rollout plan hasn’t been released yet, the company is currently rolling out a new stable update for the Redmi Note 7 Pro in India.

However, the new stable update for the Redmi Note 7 Pro is currently a “Beta” build. It will arrive for limited users who’ll test it for bugs, and if none is found, the public rollout should be days away. Those that have received the update confirmed its build number as MIUI 12.0.5.0 QFHINXM, and it weighs in at 262MB.  As per the changelog, it’s only a patch update and comes along with the January security patch. It improved system security and fixed some minor bugs.

We expect the update to extend to other regions in the coming days, but if you’re running the Indian ROM, you can download the recovery and OTA ROM via the links below. Meanwhile, you might get an error when flashing the ROM, and that’s because only limited users are to install it. In that case, you should give it some days or wait for the OTA to arrive.

About when the MIUI 12.5 update for the Redmi Note 7 Pro will be available, there’s currently no ETA. For now, only those participating in the closed beta test have received the update. However, we hope to get the global rollout scheduled before the April date for the public rollout.
