After months of waiting, Xiaomi finally released an update for the Redmi Note 8 yesterday. It was another underwhelming update as it was just a patch build. Early reports suggested that the next update that will arrive for the device will be based on Android 10. However, it seems the Chinese variants are the ones testing Android 10, and will probably get the new OS upgrade before the global users.
But while we continue to wait for the Android 10 update to start seeding, which at this stage is likely to arrive with MIUI 12, a new starts arriving for Redmi Note 8T users. The update went live in India yesterday, and now, global users starts getting notification for a new update as well.
Meanwhile, the new update arriving for Redmi Note 8T comes with a build number – MIUI 11.0.4.0 PCXMIXM – and weighs in at 400MB. As usual, it will be arriving at random and will take some time before it gets to all compatible devices ( running latest and official MIUI ROM). But you can check for a new update on the Updater and see if the update has arrived on your device.
