Xiaomi is now pushing a new update for the Mi 9T Pro and Mi 9 globally. The duo is eligible for the Android 11 update, of which the vanilla version of the former (Redmi K20) already bagged the update in China. We anticipate the global release very soon and that of the Mi 9T Pro, but it seems the update is not yet ready for deployment. And to fortify the device, including the Mi 9 of the upgrades ahead, Xiaomi has released a new update to the duo with an updated security patch level.
The new update for the Mi 9T Pro and Mi 9 is hitting the global users, but on a limited scale as usual. After the beta preview, it will be released for the public in the coming y on the account that no performance-threatening bug is detected. Meanwhile, you can side-load the ROM when you download the ROM below and flash via the recovery method. However, it might return an error unless you have an authorized Mi Beta account. The update will arrive with a version number – MIUI 12.0.5.0 QFKMIXM – in a 180MB package on Mi 9T Pro units. On Mi 9, you’ll also receive a 180MB package with a build number – MIUI 12.0.5.0 QFAMIXM. It brings the February 2021 security patch to improve system security and stability while fixing some minor bugs. You should download the update when prompted to keep your device updated ahead of the planned Android 11 and MIUI 12.5 upgrades.

Perhaps, the Mi 9 and Mi 9T Pro will receive the Android 11 and MIUI 12.5 update simultaneously. That looks like it as Xiaomi starts pushing another update to the duo in Europe, bit could only bump the Android security patch level to April 2021.
