New update for Xiaomi Mi 10i and Mi 10T/Pro released, sans Android 11
The Xiaomi Mi 10i arrived in India a couple of weeks ago after its Chinese and Global trip. In China, the device is known as Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G, while globally, it’s sold as the Mi 10T Lite. The device started receiving an Android 11 update for the first time yesterday, and we thought the next update for Xiaomi Mi 10i will come along with a new OS. That’s not the case now as a new update starts arriving for the Mi 10i, but sans the much-anticipated Android 11. The Mi 10T/Pro is also getting a new update in Indonesia and Taiwan, but unfortunately, both sans Android 11 build.
The new update for Xiaomi Mi 10i is hitting eligible units with a version number – MIUI 12.0.6.0 QJSINXM – and weighs in at 268MB. It’s a security patch build and has bumped the level to February 2021 to increase the system security and stability. The update also improved the device performance, and you should install it when prompted.
Those in Indonesia and Taiwan are getting a new stable update, but again, it sans the Android 11 update. The update brings the January 2021 security patch and has improved the security and stability. Also, since the device has started receiving a new OS update in some regions, we expect it to go round very soon. Therefore, you should download and install the latest update to fortify the device for a seamless transition to Android 11.
