A new Xiaomi MIUI camera app available for download. Check below…
The Xiaomi MIUI has been around for more than ten years now. Each year, the company releases a new iteration to improve performance and stability. With MIUI 12, it introduced a new look, which resulted in instability and multiple bugs. Of course, they’re addressing the problems, which probably resulted in MIUI 12.5. Interestingly, there’s an Enhanced version currently seeding in China and will arrive on global models starting from Q4 2021. We expect to see some improvement, which is what the build is focusing on. As usual, the camera will see some improvement, at least, in image processing, and that makes it interesting to try the new Xiaomi MIUI camera app.
The new Xiaomi MIUI camera app brings some improvements and bug fixes. It has optimized the “ID” function of the document scanner and corrected some errors. Aside from the changes on the log, you can perform some functions using the stock camera after the upgrade. Unfortunately, the camera stops working on some phones after upgrading. We tested it on the Redmi Note 10, and according to reports, the new Xiaomi MIUI camera app doesn’t work also on the Redmi Note 10 Pro.
Meanwhile, it seems to be working perfectly fine on Redmi Note 8, Redmi K20 (but crashes on using clone mode), Redmi 9, Redmi Note 7, and more. Apparently, it’s working on older phones irrespective of their Android OS. That’s contrary to what’s suggested that it works on Android 11. Nevertheless, you can still install the new Xiaomi MIUI camera app and see if it will work for you.
After installing the app, you will get some features exclusive to Chinese ROM and premium Xiaomi phones. Some of them are in the images below, and there seems to be 1080p@60fps for some devices. And if your camera app stops opening after the upgrade, simply uninstall, and your camera will start working again. To uninstall, go to Settings>>Apps>>Manage Apps>>Camera>>uninstall updates.
