MIUI update news

Next MIUI 12 update for Redmi Note 8 to arrive next year

A few hours ago, it was like more global Redmi Note 8 users will start receiving the MIUI 12 after more users report the arrival of a new update – MIUI 12.0.2.0. That’s unlikely now for those yet to receive the latest Android skin for the first time, and they’re likely to wait till next year. The latest report comes from official Xiaomi in a screenshot that we have been skeptical about, but a feedback team member has just confirmed it.

  • Miui 12.0.3.0 or MIUI 12.0.4.0
  • Next MIUI 12 update for Redmi Note 8

According to the report, those Global Redmi Note 8 users on V11.0.11.0 and V11.0.12.0 should be patient and wait for the MIUI 12 update. From what we could understand, Xiaomi added “new materials” to the versions, and there might be compatibility issues if the V12.0.1.0 or V12.0.2.0 is rolled out to those still on MIUI 11. Because of the said bug, the next MIUI 12 update for Redmi Note 8 is in the works and will start rolling out in the first week of next month. That’s 2021, though.

It’s a bit disappointing and frustrating. Xiaomi has been readying the Redmi Note 8 MIUI 12 update since July, but somehow the update will now arrive next year for some people. We hope the company learns from this when they start rolling out MIUI 12.5, and perhaps they should make up with the rollout for the complexities of MIUI 12.

Meanwhile, from the report, the next MIUI 12 update for Redmi Note 8 will arrive as MIUI 12.0.3.0 or MIUI 12.0.4.0. It’s expected to fix whatever bug that has been preventing some device users from upgrading to MIUI 12. As always, we’ll follow the development and hope the company delivers on its promise this time and not another disappointment.

They also asked that users should be patient and wait for the next MIUI 12 update for Redmi Note 8 while apologizing for any inconveniences the delay must have caused. You can follow us on Facebook for more MIUI updates news.
