Google Pixel phones were on August 1, 2023, Play System updates before the stable Android 14 release. We thought after upgrading to Android 14, we would get the October 2023 Google Play System update, but that wasn’t the case. However, the update is now available for Pixel phone users and brings new features and improvements.
Every month, Google highlights all the changes they’ll bring to the Google Play System. With the October update, the tech company made some adjustments, tweaking where files received with Fileshare are stored. Initially, files are saved in a Folder named “File Share” inside the download folder. Unfortunately, the company hasn’t said where the files will be saved, but we are about to find out.
With the October 2023 Google Play System update, which bumps the Play Services to v23.42, you will be able to connect a Wear OS watch to multiple phones seamlessly. Meanwhile, you can check for Google Play Services updates via this link.
New features are also coming to the Play Store, with Google redesigning the app details page to help discover and learn about apps for non-phone devices. That, perhaps, includes watches, Tablets, and others. To update your Google Play Store, head to the app, click on your profile icon and select Settings. Tap on About to open the drop-down menu and click on Update Play Store.
Nevertheless, once you install the October 2023 Google Play System updates, there won’t be a need to upgrade individually. To update your Pixel phone, head to Settings>>Security & Privacy>>System & Updates>>Google Play System update.
