It all came as a surprise when Xiaomi announced they’ll upgrade the Redmi Note 8 to Android 11. That’s because the device before the announcement has received the promised Android OS upgrade (Android 10). However, the device hasn’t been receiving the update as before since after the upgrade. Also, the device will stop development internal testing next month, meaning it will take longer before time before a new update. But before that, we expect the phone to get the Enhanced Edition of MIUI 12.5, which has been released in China.
While the global users are still waiting for the Enhanced Edition of MIUI 12.5, the October security patch for Redmi Note 8 has been released in Europe. Perhaps, Xiaomi wants to start deploying the Enhanced Version of MIUI 12.5 with the global users yet to get the October patch.
