The Korean tech giant, Samsung, is rolling out an impressive watch update – OneUI 5 Watch. The update is bringing major improvements to various sections of the Galaxy Watch. According to sources, the OneUI 5 Watch update is available for Galaxy Watch 4, Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, Galaxy Watch 5, and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro and of course, the Galaxy Watch 6 will be getting the update out of the box. But what features?
Features of the OneUI 5 Watch
The OneUI 5 Watch brought improvements to three main areas – user safety, and sleep tracking alongside activity tracking. The Sleep Insights UI on the OneUI 5 Watch compiles a sleep score for each night’s rest with detailed information on sleep phases, blood oxygen levels, and snoring hours. Sleep Coaching will now be offered directly on Galaxy Watches, assisting users in developing healthy sleeping habits.
OneUI 5 Watch devices will also support seamless integration with SmartThings-compatible devices, allowing the watch to turn off connected devices as you fall asleep. In addition, the new version includes additional fitness monitoring capabilities such as customizable heart rate zones for running, real-time running analysis, and a customized interval training program.
OneUI 5 Watch devices will also have five exercise intensity levels: warm-up, fat burn, cardio, hard training, and max effort. Users of the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro will be able to search for and retrieve GPX files through Samsung Health, as well as use the enhanced Route Workout setting for running and walking. OneUI 5 Watch also has an upgraded SOS function for direct connection with emergency services and access to the user’s medical information. For users 55 and older, fall detection will be enabled by default.
The update will be available in its beta later this month for the aforementioned Galaxy watches in the US and South Korea via the Samsung Members app. Most probably, the update will spread out to other regions in the coming weeks.
