The Android 13 season keeps on bringing up a lot of surprises, specifically from phone brands – just trying to be remarkable. OPPO is promising to roll out 4 Android OS updates to select smartphones starting from 2023 alongside a 5 years of security support.
As mentioned earlier, the Android 13 season is a bit surprising in that phone brands try to roll out their version of the Android 13 to a vast majority of their smartphones or at least better than last year’s Android 12. Reports have it that the Android 13-based ColorOS 13 was rolled out to more smartphones than the ColorOS 12 (precisely over 50 percent).
This was replicated in the Android 13 OneUI 5 from Samsung, even budget Galaxy smartphones got a feel of the software and it was at a fast pace. OPPO offering 4 Android OS updates to select premium smartphones is just one amazing move. Samsung has done similar (4 years of Android OS upgrades) and it enlisted 2021 flagships for the offer.
In comparison, Google offers just three OS upgrades and 5 years of security patches while some other OEMs leave it at one or two – we hope this move from OPPO will push them beyond that limit. Meanwhile, Samsung’s offer extended to quite a several Galaxy smartphones and we hope OPPO extends it a little and not just limits it to the likes of the OnePlus 11 and 10 Pro only.
ColorOS 13 is a good start for the 4 Android OS updates
Well, not only did the brand seed the software (ColorOS 13) to a vast majority of their smartphones but it was also integrated with a lot of amazing features. We have Aquamorphic design, a revamped Material You, a feature for avatar creation, better UI and other changes under the hood. You can check out the link below to get a full list of the features.
