Redmi had to launch a new Redmi Note 9 series in its Homeland of China instead of relaunching the ones that debuted in India early this year due to lack of 5G connectivity. The company launched the devices a couple of days ago, with the first official sales scheduled for December 1. Going by the latest report, the phones have appealed to Xiaomi fans in China, with the company announcing on Weibo that it has sold over 300,000 units already.
According to Lu Weibing, Redmi General manager, the new Redmi Note 9 phones as of 12:00 on December 1, already sold over 300,000 units. The executive believes the sales is down to the affordable price and the specs, of course. All three phones participated in the sales, but the Redmi Note 9 Pro is said to be the most popular.
Redmi product director, Wang Teng, said that Note 9 Pro is the most popular among the fans. We expected that, given the primary camera module, which is the new Samsung HM2 10MP sensor. Also, the starting price of ¥1,599 (~$243) means the phone is always going to gain attraction.
The 6.67-inch LCD panel is another aspect of the phone that will attract so many buyers. It features a 120Hz adaptive Sync and 240Hz touch sampling rate with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Under the hood is Snapdragon 750G SoC paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The device is powered by a 4820mAh battery with support for a 33W Fast charging solution.
