Redmi Note 9 5G and Redmi Note 9 4G now official in China, starting at $151

Redmi has just unveiled three Redmi Note 9 series phones in China. We already covered the Redmi Note 9 Pro launch in a separate post, and you can access it via this link. Meanwhile, the Redmi Note 9 5G and Note 9 4G is the more affordable model, with the former sporting a similar design to the Pro variant.

Redmi Note 9 5G

The Redmi Note 9 5G runs a MediaTek processor. It features the Dimensity 800U SoC, which is built on a 7nm node. And yes, it supports 5G connectivity. The processor is paired with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. It runs Android 10 based on MIUI 12 outside-of-the-box, and that qualifies the device for both Android 11 and MIUI 13.

The device is powered by a beefy 5000mAh battery and supports 18W charging, while a 22.5W charger is included in the box. For security, it makes use of a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. It also supports Bluetooth 5.1, Dual speakers, and IR Blaster.

Around the back is where the camera sensors are arranged in a circular plate. It features a primary 48MP shooter, which makes use of 4-in-1 binning for a final 12MP image. Additional sensors are an 8MP ultrawide-angle lens and 2MP macro shooter, while the front camera is equipped with a 13 MP snapper. The rear camera is capable of shooting 4K videos @30fps and also 1080p @ 60fps/30fps.

The rear camera comprises a primary 48MP sensor, 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and 2MP macro shooter. It’s only capable of shooting 1080p videos @30fps.

Under the hood is the Snapdragon 662 SoC with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. The battery capacity is 6000mAh and supports an 18W fast charging solution while the fingerprint is side-mounted. Other features of the device include a 3.5mm headphone jack, IR Blaster, Dual speakers, and outside-of-the-box, you get Android 10 based on MIUI 11.

Redmi watch

The Redmi watch comes with a 1.4-inch display. It features a 5ATM splash resistance rating and comes with a massive battery. The battery can go up to seven days on active use and 12 days on standby. Redmi equipped its watch with a heart rate sensor, step tracking, and comes pre-installed with Xiao AI digital assistant. Meanwhile, voice assistance only works in China.
