Information about the Google Pixel Sales increase was seen in the Google segment of the Alphabet Q1 2023 report. According to that segment, sales of Google Pixel 7, 7 Pro, 6A, and the Google Pixel Watch saw an increase of 8.8% in revenue on year. The Google CEO was pleased to hear the reports on the increase in Q1 of 2023. This probably means that there’s room for improvement and given there are some devices that will be released this year still.
Apart from the Google Pixel sales increase, The Cloud business gained traction, generating operational profit for the first time since the division’s inception. Meanwhile, while some brands generally have layoffs, Alphabet nevertheless claimed over 190,000 workers, a 16% rise from the 163,000 employed at the end of January-March 2022.
During the investor call, Sundar Pichai stated that Alphabet will expand the development of Al while putting safeguards in place. Alphabet shares jumped 3% in after-hours trading after the firm unveiled a $70 billion share repurchase program. Well, we’ve got devices that will be arriving this year. We have the likes of the Google Pixel Fold, the Google Pixel Tablet, and of course, the next generation of Google Pixel series, the Pixel 8.
