Xiaomi sub-brand POCO is gearing up for the launch of a new device. The phone has just appeared on Google Play Console with Android 14. We have seen the phone before, according to the pictures, but under a different moniker.
The Redmi sub-brand isn’t shy of rebranding Xiaomi phones, while POCO does the same for Redmi phones. It’s not surprising again to see these companies release the same phone under a different moniker, which is exactly what they have done with the POCO 61. The device is a rebranded Redmi A3 that debuted last month.
The Google Search Console listing confirms the device is only a reworked Redmi A3 with the specs. There’s also an image along with the features of the device. According to it, the device will debut with Android 14 on top of HyperOS and runs MediaTek Helio G36 Octa-core SoC.
The processor gets 4GB RAM, while we expect up to 128GB of RAM with expandable storage. Meanwhile, there’s a slight change with the display featuring a punch hole for the selfie camera. Redmi A3 has a water drop notch, but that is probably a few tweaks to differentiate the two phones.
The screen is an LCD panel with 720 x 1650p and 320 ppi density, protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Other features of the POCO C61 could include a 5000mAh battery with 10W wired charging, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a USB-C port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and others.
